Kim's Baby Shower

In April D;a;lskjdf, Jenny, and
the rest of our sisters (and sisters-in-law) threw Kim a baby shower in St. Louis. It was extremely well-planned and well-executed, and was held at a great location on The Hill in St. Louis.

When the planning for the s
hower began, Kim's sisters did their typical routine (by the way, the section below is not intended to be insulting to the wonderful and charming women in Kim's family):

Jenny: Let's throw a shower for Kim.
Julie: Good idea. When should we have it?
Pam: Whatever works for you guys. Where should it be?
Jenny: I agree with Pam.
Pam: Thanks, Jenny. You bring light into the lives of everyone you encounter.
Jenny: (Whimper)
Julie: Great - I am glad we got that figured out. Should we get
her a cake?
Kim's Mom: I don't like cake. So yes, definitely get some cake.
Pam: Great - this is really coming together.
Ju
lie: I am so glad we have made these tough decisions about the shower. Mom, you really helped clarify what we were all feeling.
Jenny: Yes, and Julie ever since you met Gary you seem like you are the
happiest person in the world. I am so thrilled for you!
Julie: Wow, you really know how to make me feel loved. (Whimper)
Pam: (Whimper) So what are we doing for Easter?
Kim's Mom: Well, we could have it
at my house, or we could go to Pam's. Based on that, I will see you all at Jenny's.
Jenny: What type of food should we have?
Julie: Whatever works for you guys.
Pam: I agree with Julie.
Julie: (Whimper)

Kim's Mom: I don't like chicken. So no chicken. On the other hand, we could serve chicken.
Jenny: Good point, Mom. Pam, do you have any coupons?
Kim's Mom: I think Bud wants a sandwich.
Pam: Matt Damon!

Meanwhile, D;;lasjkd took advantage of her German ancestry and scared the, uh, stuffing out of everyone, and everything ultimately came together.

We are of course very appreciative that everyone came and shared their excitement with us. Celeste (our sister-in-law/Kim's brother Scott's wife) put together a '100 Good Wishes Quilt' (a tradition in China - link) with contributions from our family and friends. This is so wonderful and will mean a lot to our girls.

After the shower, a group of us went to my Uncle Ron's and he and Judy (my 'Mom') finally ended their decades-long feud over the divorce of my parents back in 1970.

In addition to attending my first (and certainly my last) baby shower ever, I also enjoyed delicious Imo's pizza twice and Steak 'N Shake once, and drank plenty of clean, crisp, refreshing Budweiser (a scuttle of suds) with my Uncle Ron. The weekend was amazingly memorable and we are very grateful to all who attended, all of the gifts for our little girls, and all the good fun.

Below please enjoy watching Kim walk into the baby shower - please check the video link above for more fascinating video fun.
